GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary) to work within a supportive school environment in Newcastle. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to supporting young learners in overcoming educational barriers and achieving emotional and academic growth.
As a SEMH Primary TA, you will support primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in both one-to-one and small group settings. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in managing behaviour, promoting emotional well-being, and helping students engage with learning in a positive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to pupils with SEMH needs across the primary age range.
Assist in implementing behaviour strategies and emotional regulation plans.
Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional development.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
