We are seeking an inspiring, organised, and student-centred Head of Year 12 who is also able to teach Science. This is a key pastoral and academic leadership role, ideal for a teacher who is passionate about sixth-form education and committed to supporting students at a pivotal stage of their academic and personal development.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs Head of Year 12, you will:\n\nLead and oversee the academic progress, attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing of the Year 12 cohort\n\nSupport students’ transition into sixth form and establish high expectations from the outset\n\nWork closely with tutors, subject teachers, parents/carers, and senior leaders to secure excellent outcomes\n\nTrack progress and implement effective intervention strategies\n\nDeliver high-quality Science teaching at KS4 and/or KS5, depending on specialism and experience\n\nContribute to the wider life, culture, and strategic development of the sixth form\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nWe are looking for someone who:\n\nIs an excellent classroom practitioner in Science\n\nHas strong pastoral skills and a genuine commitment to student welfare and success\n\nDemonstrates effective leadership, organisation, and communication skills\n\nIs resilient, proactive, and solutions-focused\n\nShares our values and commitment to high standards, inclusion, and safeguarding\n\nPrevious pastoral or leadership experience is desirable but not essential; training and support will be provided for the right candidate.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nA supportive and ambitious sixth-form leadership team\n\nMotivated students with high aspirations\n\nHigh-quality professional development and leadership training\n\nClear opportunities for career progression\n\nA positive school culture with strong systems and support structures
