School Caretaker – Primary School (Temp to Perm)
Location: Ilford
Hours: 5 hours per day (7:00–8:00am & 3:00–6:00pm)
Pay: £14 per hour
Start: ASAP
Contract: Temp initially, with potential for long-term permanent placement

We are working with a warm, welcoming primary school in Ilford who are seeking a reliable, positive and proactive School Caretaker to join their team. The school is looking for someone friendly, practical and committed—someone who takes pride in their work and contributes to a calm, well-maintained environment for pupils and staff.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys hands-on work, takes initiative and can support the daily smooth running of a school site.
The Role
Working split shifts, you will support the school with a variety of day-to-day caretaking tasks, including:

Opening the school in the morning and locking up at the end of the day
*
Clearing and maintaining the playground
*
Emptying dustbins and keeping external areas tidy
*
Completing basic repairs and handy-person jobs (e.g., tightening screws, fixing coat pegs, minor DIY tasks)
*
Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and secure
*
Supporting staff with small jobs around the building
*
Opening and closing gates at scheduled times
*
Reporting any maintenance issues promptly
