Our client based in Whetstone, Leicester, is searching for a Sales Executive to join their team on a permanent basis. This position offers remote working and requires the successful professional to also be field-based.
Summary of Position:
The main objective is to proactively develop business in markets such as composite, foundry, vacuum forming, thermoforming, automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, industrial, film, and prop markets for epoxy and polyurethane products used in mould and tool making, design model making, rapid prototyping, foundry pattern making, art, architectural models, and composite tooling.
This involves identifying customer needs, capitalizing on sales opportunities, and building strong customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and emails. The role includes maintaining contact with existing and potential customers, Business Development Managers, and other departments.
Primary Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Manage account activity to optimize gross margin, increase sales, and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet revenue targets and expand market share.
- Analyze contractual terms, mitigate risks, and lead negotiations.
- Achieve sales and value-added targets as per business plans.
- Assess customer needs and recommend suitable products or solutions, customizing offerings as needed.
- Monitor and report on activities, maintaining the customer prospect database.
- Plan and prioritize sales activities to meet business goals.
- Work with marketing to generate and follow up on leads.
- Respond promptly to sales inquiries, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and introduce new product lines to existing customers.
- Stay updated on product information and industry trends to advise customers effectively.
- Perform other tasks as required to meet business objectives, including working extra hours if necessary.
Qualities and Attitude:
- Proven ability to increase company turnover and grow accounts annually.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
Experience:
- Track record in sales, including cross-selling and upselling within existing accounts.
Qualifications & Training:
- Qualified by experience or relevant professional body.
Desirable Personal Skills and Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, especially within composites and/or epoxy/PU industries.
- Achievement in expanding into new markets.
- Experience with tendering and procurement processes.
Additional Qualifications:
- Sales or customer service qualification.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of industry trends and product knowledge.
