Responsibilities
We’re looking for a proactive Resource Manager to lead our people planning across the group. In this newly shaped and strategic role, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure our people are matched to the right work, at the right time, based on skills, availability, and business needs. Key responsibilities will include:
Resource & Capacity Planning
- Use Retain to schedule staff onto client engagements, ensuring alignment of skills, level, and availability.
- Monitor team availability, comparing planned vs actual hours, and manage workloads year-round.
- Proactively identify potential pinch points and provide planning support during busy periods.
- Work closely with Partners, Managers, Office Leads, and HR to understand resourcing needs and priorities.
- Resolve planning conflicts and guide teams through resourcing decisions.
- Support consistent planning practices across all 13 UK offices.
- Track key metrics including utilisation, availability, overtime, and leave.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards to support decision-making at all levels.
- Present resourcing insights to senior operational and leadership teams.
- Champion Retain as the core tool for resource planning.
- Help design, implement, and improve standardised planning processes.
- Train and support local teams, and act as the go-to expert for all resourcing-related queries.
Hungry for a new challenge, you’ll:
- Have proven experience within a similar resourcing role.
- Be a process-minded thinker who brings structure and clarity to complex planning needs.
- Be confident with technology and comfortable learning and rolling out systems (Retain experience is a bonus, but not essential).
- Hold strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, visualise, and communicate key metrics to various audiences.
- Be comfortable working with senior leaders and able to influence decisions, while managing competing priorities and diplomatically resolving conflicts.
- Have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, able to present clearly, work across teams, and train others when needed.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic about shaping and defining a new group role.
