Remote Contentious Probate Solicitor
New Today
Job Description
I’m keen to connect with Contentious Probate Solicitors (3+ PQE) who are looking to take the next step within a nationally recognised, specialist-only disputes firm at the forefront of contentious trusts and estates work.
This is a rare opportunity to fully immerse yourself in your specialism, working exclusively on complex, high-value contentious probate matters within a firm built entirely around this area of law.
The Firm
This is a boutique, disputes-only practice dedicated exclusively to contentious wills, trusts and estates work.
There is no non-contentious private client work, allowing lawyers to develop genuine depth, technical excellence and strategic expertise in what is an increasingly complex and high-growth area.
The firm has built a strong national reputation for:
- Handling high-quality, often high-value inheritance disputes
- Delivering technical excellence in complex trust and estate litigation
- Taking a pragmatic, resolution-focused approach to disputes
- Providing empathetic, highly personal client care in sensitive circumstances
What truly sets the firm apart is its modern, progressive culture.
Flexibility is not a policy, it’s embedded in how the firm operates. Lawyers are trusted to manage their time and workload, with remote and hybrid working as standard, and genuine flexibility around working patterns.
This creates an environment where you can perform at a high level without sacrificing personal commitments or long-term wellbeing.
The Role
You will join an established and growing team of specialists, handling a varied and high-quality caseload of contentious probate matters.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong prior experience in this area, you will be trusted to run matters with autonomy while benefiting from the support of highly experienced colleagues.
Your caseload will include:
- Will and inheritance disputes
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Trust and estate disputes
- Capacity and validity challenges
- Executor and trustee disputes
You will have the opportunity to work on complex, often sensitive matters, developing both your technical expertise and client-handling skills in equal measure.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- True specialism – 100% contentious probate focus
- High-quality work – complex, meaningful and often high-value disputes
- Genuine flexibility – remote and hybrid working fully embedded
- Work-life balance – a sustainable approach to legal careers
- Clear pathway to Partnership – transparent and achievable progression
- Collaborative culture – no internal competition or siloed working
- Strong pipeline of work – consistent flow of high-quality instructions
- People-first ethos – wellbeing and long-term careers are prioritised
This is an ideal move whether you are:
- A mid-level solicitor looking to deepen your expertise and specialise further, or
- A more experienced lawyer seeking greater flexibility without compromising on quality or progression
About You

- Confident managing cases independently from an early stage
- Strong technical ability and sound commercial judgment
