Reports to: Service Manager
Work Location: Adbaston, Stafford. ST20
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week working Monday – Friday 9am until 5pm plus participation in on-call rota
Salary Range: up to £64, 500.00 (depending on experience, qualifications and earned bonuses)

Your Role - Job description
  • Lead the overall management and performance of the residential home in line with the Statement of Purpose and Ofsted/CIW regulations
  • Provide effective leadership, support and supervision to the team
  • Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with legal frameworks
  • Ensure children's care plans meet their emotional, educational, social, and therapeutic needs
  • Conduct audits, internal quality checks, and prepare for Regulation 44 and Ofsted/CIW inspections
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, handovers, and resource planning
  • Contribute to budget management and operational decision-making
  • Promote positive outcomes through trauma-informed, inclusive, and therapeutic approaches
What we are looking for
Essential:
  • *2+ years' experience* in a supervisory or management role within residential childcare
  • *Level 3 Diploma* in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of child development, trauma*, and therapeutic care approaches
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding*, care standards, and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015/ Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff teams
Confident use of Microsoft Office* (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Full UK Driving Licence*
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, delegate, and manage a dynamic workload
  • Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure
Commitment to ongoing professional development*
Willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management* qualification
Desirable:
  • *Level 5* qualification in Leadership and Management
Experience with therapeutic frameworks* or therapeutic qualifications
Demonstrated financial acumen* and budgeting experience
Proven positive regulatory inspection outcomes*
