We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a Recruitment Officer on a 6-months contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Rate of Pay: £16.50 - £21.70 per hour Summary Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly motivated and agile Recruitment Officer to join our fast-paced HR team. This is a critical "end-to-end" role, requiring a unique blend of recruitment expertise and administrative precision. You will manage a personal caseload of vacancies, acting as a strategic partner to hiring managers while ensuring all pre-employment compliance is met. Responsibilities
Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from advising on engaging advert copy and selection methods to issuing final contracts of employment. Facilitate and verify all pre-appointment checks, including Right to Work documentation, references, medical screening, and processing DBS applications. Provide expert guidance to managers on Council policies, employment legislation, and HR best practices to ensure fair and effective hiring. Represent the Council at job fairs, schools, and universities to promote Liverpool City Council as an employer of choice. Adopt a flexible approach to support colleagues during high-volume periods, ensuring all departmental deadlines are met.
Qualifications
HR/Recruitment qualification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent relevant experience in talent acquisition.
Essentials
Proven experience in an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition role within a fast-paced environment. Essential experience using Tribepad to manage candidate flow and recruitment stages. Demonstrable experience handling complex pre-employment checks and understanding the vetting and barring process. Proven ability to multitask and manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strict attention to detail.
