Quantity Surveyor

Our Commercial Team, supporting the successful United Utilities account, is looking for a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us. In this role, you will support the delivery of commercial and contractual duties, work closely with operational teams, and ensure full compliance with Avove’s values and processes. Your focus will be on maximising recovery of contractual entitlement and contributing to the successful delivery of each project.
What will your day look like…
* Carry out financial monitoring and reporting for assigned contracts.
* Assist in establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to meet procurement needs.
* Prepare accurate financial statements for assigned contracts.
* Ensure proper administration of contract requirements, including all variations and changes to the works.
* Assist with commercial close‑out, maintaining contemporary records to support claims, extensions of time, and variation evaluations.
* Manage the appointment and ongoing management of subcontractors, including payment applications and final accounts.
* Ensure prompt submission of invoices and/or applications for payment to clients.
* Support Business Development by providing information for PQQs and tenders.
About you…
* HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
* Degree qualification or progress toward RICS (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
* Clean driving licence.
* Ability to work effectively within a delivery‑focused team.
* Experience managing NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, including target cost, fixed price and cost‑reimbursable mechanisms.
* Strong commercial background with the ambition to take the next step in your career.
