Thomas Search are working on behalf of an independent consultancy to appoint a Chartered Quantity Surveyor into their growing and successful Cost consultancy team. You will work on a wide and varied portfolio of projects in a commercial environment, supporting an enviable national client base. This is a client-facing role offering early responsibility, structured support, and excellent long-term career progression within a flexible and collaborative working environment. Will play a key part in supporting business growth by delivering high-calibre, commercially focused cost consultancy advice across a range of sectors.
What You'll do:
Contract administration with detailed knowledge of standard forms of contract including JCT Minor Works, Intermediate and Standard Building Contracts (experience of NEC, GC Works and PPC 2000 desirable) Cost planning and estimating Understanding of procurement routes and strategies Preparation of tender and contract documentation, including Schedules of Works and Bills of Quantities Measurement (manual and CAD Measure) with a sound understanding of construction processes Knowledge of Reinstatement Cost Assessments Strong understanding of material costings and sourcing cost data What We are looking for:
Independent delivery of procurement, including single-stage and two-stage tendering Cost consultancy experience across commercial, residential and retail sectors Demonstrable experience of effective client relationship management Proven ability to deliver end-to-end commercial cost consultancy services Experience working with a variety of contract forms Strong team player Confident, professional communicator (written and verbal) Commercially aware Client-focused, with a desire to exceed expectations Enthusiastic and proactive Highly accurate with strong attention to detail What's in it for you?
