Quantity Surveyor/Project Coordinator Braintree Up to £45k Per Annum Job Description: Overview We are working exclusively with a highly regarded construction consultancy who are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially-minded Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse project portfolio, primarily within high-end residential and small commercial developments, typically ranging from £100k to £5m. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing the cost and coordination aspects of multiple projects while supporting the wider team in maintaining programme, quality, and stakeholder expectations. This is a varied role that extends beyond traditional Quantity Surveying, ideal for someone who enjoys being fully embedded in the lifecycle of a project. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects. Manage and monitor project budgets and expenditures, introducing cost control measures to avoid overspend. Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate project viability from a cost perspective. Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on cost and scope. Ensure that key milestones are met and liaise with external consultants and contractors to keep projects on track. Draft and manage tender documents; assess bids for competitiveness and value. Maintain meticulous financial records and provide regular reports to stakeholders. Assist with dispute resolution regarding cost issues and contractual terms. Serve as the key contact for clients, dealing proactively with any project-related queries or challenges. About you Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within residential or mixed-use developments. Strong knowledge of construction cost control, estimating, and budgeting. Familiarity with relevant software tools used for cost management and project planning. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate across teams. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Up-to-date knowledge of UK construction regulations and industry best practices. Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am 5pm
