Quality Inspector Pay, Hours and Benefits
* £36,250 (including rotating twilight shift allowance)
* 38 hours per week, working on a rotating days/twilight shift rotation as detailed below. - Days: 7:30am – 4:15pm Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm on Friday. - Twilight: 4:00pm – 12:00am Monday to Thursday, 12:00pm – 6:00pm on Friday.

The Quality Inspector Position is Commutable From: Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Chorley, Bury, Rochdale
Quality Inspector Candidate Requirements
* Skilled in precision measurement tools – Confident use of verniers, micrometers, Bowers gauges and other inspection equipment to ensure accurate, high-quality output.
* Strong engineering inspection background – Experience within machining, milling, turning and welding environments, ideally within valve assembly or precision manufacturing.
* CMM & advanced inspection capability (desirable) – Experience with CMM operation, Faro Arm, Tessa Scan and other advanced metrology equipment would be highly advantageous.
* NDT awareness (advantageous) – Exposure to non-destructive testing methods is beneficial in supporting high-integrity product inspection requirements.
* Qualified mechanical engineer – Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification essential.
* Strong work ethic & reliability – Honest, dependable, and able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in workmanship.
* Detail-focused & adaptable team player – Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, able to adapt to changing priorities and committed to continuous improvement.
Quality Inspector Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* High-quality inspection standards – Ensure all products meet strict quality requirements while achieving production targets and maintaining full traceability throughout the process.
* First-off, patrol & final inspection duties – Carry out in-process checks, first article inspections, and final inspection of assemblies prior to despatch.
* Accurate reporting & documentation – Complete inspection reports, maintain quality records, and use computer systems to record and manage data effectively.
* Collaborative QA support role – Work closely with Production Managers and Quality teams to support corrective actions, audits, and preventive improvements.
* Hands-on manufacturing involvement – Actively support production activities, including safe manual handling of components up to 25kg.
* Continuous improvement mindset – Contribute to process improvements, support a “right first time” culture, and promote lean principles including 5S.
* Safe, compliant working environment – Maintain high safety standards by following procedures, ensuring cleanliness, and supporting a strong safety culture across the site.
