Quality Inspector (Aerospace)
Location: Rochford, Essex (within approximately 5 miles of Southend-on-Sea – commutable from Rayleigh, Hockley, Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-Sea, Great Wakering)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + benefits
Start Date: ASAP (notice periods considered)
This role would suit an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector with a strong understanding of aerospace inspection standards, comfortable working within a small, close-knit quality team.
Syntech Recruitment is working with a well-established aerospace precision engineering manufacturer based in Rochford, Essex, supplying safety-critical components into the aerospace sector. You will be joining a small Quality team consisting of one Quality Manager and one other Quality Inspector, offering genuine ownership, visibility, and influence across the business.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspection, qualification, testing, and release activities in line with aerospace quality standards and the company’s AS9100-approved Quality Management System.

Quality Inspector Responsibilities
Inspecting, qualifying, testing, and releasing aerospace components in line with QMS requirements.
Completing FAIR and LAIR documentation as directed by the Quality Manager.
Using a wide range of measurement equipment including handheld gauges, height gauges, shadowgraphs, surface comparators, and CMM or laser measurement machines.
Programming and operating CMM Light or laser measurement equipment.
Managing calibration of inspection equipment and maintaining accurate records.
Ensuring full product traceability, batch control, and routing compliance.
Supporting non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and rework activity.
Assisting with AS9100 and internal audit activity.
Working closely with manufacturing to promote right-first-time quality.
Quality Inspector Requirements
Proven experience in aerospace quality inspection.
Strong understanding of AS9100 standards.
Confident reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
Solid measurement and inspection capability across a broad range of inspection tools.
Calibration knowledge within an aerospace QMS environment.
Experience using and programming CMM or laser measurement equipment.
First Article Inspection (FAIR) experience is essential.
Experience completing in-house drawings is desirable.
A high level of attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset.
