Job Description
Owen Daniels are exclusively working with a well-established and highly regarded precision engineering business that specialises in the manufacture of bespoke machinery and complex components. Due to continued growth and investment, they are now looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to support both production and continuous improvement activities across the site.\n\n This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in machined components, assemblies, or special-purpose machinery, and strong experience in inspection and quality systems.\n\n The Role of Quality Engineer:\n\n As Quality Engineer, you’ll report to the Quality Manager and work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. You’ll be involved in day-to-day inspection, root cause analysis, supplier quality, and continuous improvement projects.\n Key Responsibilities:\nCarry out hands-on inspection of machined parts, fabricated components, and final assemblies\nUse a range of inspection tools including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and CMM (if experienced)\nAssist in maintaining the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System\nInvestigate internal and external non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis and support corrective actions\nParticipate in internal and supplier audits\nSupport APQP, PPAP, FMEA and other quality planning processes where applicable\nWork with production and design teams to resolve quality issues during NPI and manufacturing\nAnalyse quality data and contribute to improvement initiatives across the siteSkills & Experience Required for Quality Engineer:\nPrevious experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or machinery manufacturing environment\nConfident with mechanical inspection of machined components and assemblies\nStrong understanding of ISO 9001 and related quality processes\nFamiliar with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa etc.)\nAble to read and interpret technical engineering drawings\nGood communication and problem-solving skills
