& Medina) are currently recruiting for
a Quality Assurance Assistant (Nights)
to join the team on
site in Hemel Hempstead, on a Full
Time Permanent basis.
In this role you will carry
out Quality Assessments of products to ensure Quality Vs
Specification and reject when out of spec. You will monitor fresh
produce, however if required for cover this may extend to fresh
meat, chilled, frozen and ambient products to ensure consistent
customer quality delivered. As a Quality Assurance Assistant you
liaise and report the findings to the Sysco GB Technical Teams as
well as supporting any requests made by
them.
Key
Accountabilities;
Monitor
and assess quality of produce daily – through the Goods In process
and store walks.
Ensure compliance to
specifications.
Conduct daily checks and remove
stock as required.
Report on stock rotation
issues.
To carry out follow up assessments
where appropriate on next batches.
To complete
all daily report requirements and monitor
complaints.
Carry out all appropriate admins
including rejection documentation and data
reporting.
To monitor and assess stock for the
regional depots.
Work closely with Quality
Manager and other QA teams nationally as well as TMs and Depot
management as requested by the
Supervisor.
Housekeeping of the QA facility and
monitoring of equipment.
Support any training
given at the depot in ensuring the above.
If
requested to conduct product assessments against specifications and
conduct store walks for categories other than produce (if covering
holidays, sickness or an emergency).
To liaise
with category TMs and suppliers re specification and product
standards if required by the Supervisor.
Adhoc
reporting or assessment based on Company need for all products
including produce (Spot check any agreed high-risk customers; new /
onboarding and those picked up directly with sales
colleagues).
You;
Essential
to your success is experience in food operations or working with
food, along with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. A background in the food
industry would be advantageous, particularly produce. You are
customer-centric, always putting both internal and external
customers first, with a genuine passion for food and a
people-oriented approach. Driven by performance, you consistently
aim to deliver excellent results. You communicate effectively and
professionally, whether by phone or email, and are self-motivated
with the ability to work autonomously. Your tenacity and
flexibility help you adapt to changing demands and
challenges.
