J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is seeking a Quality Assurance & Training Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance standards and training activities throughout the organization. The manager is responsible for quality assurance documentation and reporting, as well as ensuring that quality processes meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and NTEA MVP programs. Recognizing that training and skill-building are deeply interconnected to continuous improvement, the Quality Assurance & Training Manager will also identify training needs, oversee the delivery of effective training programs, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other job-related duties may be assigned in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Quality Assurance:
Oversees the development and implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the quality of products.
Maintains required documentation according to the Quality Assurance Manual.
Monitors the conformance of the manufacturing operation to ISO 9001:2015 standards and procedures.
Monitors and assures compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Supervises quality control foremen and dedicated quality inspectors; oversees in-process quality inspection.
Assists in purchasing and manufacturing, in evaluating and resolving purchased product non-conformances.
Collects, analyzes, and reports on quality data to identify issues and trends.
Uses data to advise on improving product quality or design, or manufacturing processes.
Promotes cross-functional cooperation and communication between departments and processes.
Provides direction and examples for the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the quality assurance activities.
Serves as the authoritative voice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures when disputes arise.
Establishes current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies.
Evaluates and manages the performance of subordinates. Recommends remedial actions to correct deficiencies.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing quality standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
Safely performs duties; wears required PPE when appropriate.
Training & Development:
Assesses training needs through data collection, job analysis, performance reviews, and consultation with department leaders and supervisors.
Oversees the design, development, and delivery of training programs for employees onboarding, compliance, and technical skills.
Manages staff, interns, vendors, and consultants working on the design, development, and delivery of training programs.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the training through feedback and testing.
Conducts quality assurance and periodic training for employees.
Coordinate tracking of training and credentials with Human Resources.
Coaches and mentors supervise to enhance internal training capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the performance of a 5 to 10-person QA / QC Department comprised of QC Foreman & Inspectors. Trains, educates, and mentors team members and contributes to their ongoing development and performance evaluation.
Indirectly manages staff, interns, vendors, and consultants working on training program development and delivery. No direct training reports at this time.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree or technical degree in a related field; a bachelor's degree is .
3-5 years' experience in quality assurance and/or training management
CWI
Strong understanding of quality systems and compliance standards
Proven experience developing and implementing training programs.
