Purchasing Procurement Officer - HYBRID
JOB LOCATION: Stevenage
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: SC - UKEO - Can start on BPSS
DURATION: 6 months + (possible extension)
WORK PATTERN: HYBRID - 1 or 2 days per week in office depending on workload (Dynamic working rest of the time)
PAY RATE: £25 - £27 Per Hour Umbrella Inside IR35
Essential QUALIFICATIONS
- Procurement experience and understanding of SAP
- Experience in target industries; Defence experience is advantageous but not essential. Other relevant industries can be considered.

Overview
The focal point for working with the CSS Spares and Repairs Team, managing customer repairs and spares procurement based on requests from internal project teams. Responsibilities include supplier assessment, maintaining open order books, ensuring on-time deliveries, communicating solutions for delays, and measuring supplier performance.
Responsibilities
- Processing electronic and manual requisitions
- Using SAP to raise RFQs
- Creating Excel spreadsheets for supplier assessment
- Raising purchase orders in SAP
- Ensuring on-time delivery of orders
- Amending purchase orders based on delivery updates
- Maintaining communication with internal customers
- Supporting business operational reviews
Administration
- Liaising with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoice queries
- Data cleansing in SAP for accurate reporting
- Measuring and reporting on supplier quality and delivery performance
Skillset/Experience Required
- Proactive, flexible, self-starter attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); SAP knowledge is an advantage
- Educational background: at least GCSE/O level in Maths and English or equivalent
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
