About The
Team:
Our Public Sector Audit
team plays a key role in strengthening public accountability by
delivering independent audits to local authorities, central
government departments, NHS bodies, and other publicly funded
organisations. With a strong national presence and a growing public
audit portfolio, we support entities that shape society and deliver
vital services. You'll work with purpose-driven clients, contribute
to public trust, and be part of a team that values collaboration,
inclusion, and high-quality outcomes. Your development will be
supported every step of the way as you grow your expertise in a
sector that truly matters.
What
You'll Do:
Lead
Audits – Take ownership of audits for local government, NHS, and
central bodies, delivering accurate, compliant and high-quality
work.
Build Relationships – Develop strong
client connections, acting as a key contact to resolve queries
promptly and ensure billing runs smoothly.
Ensure Excellence – Oversee audit delivery to agreed
timescales, ensuring standards, procedures and quality expectations
are consistently met.
Coach & Collaborate
– Mentor and support audit assistants and seniors, reviewing work,
giving feedback and guiding them through fieldwork.
What You'll
Bring:
Professional
Qualification – ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent).
Sector Expertise – Experience auditing publicly funded
bodies such as local authorities, central government departments,
NHS trusts, and other government-aligned organisations.
Leadership Experience – Ability to take the lead on
external audits, you'll supervise and coach junior
staff.
Technical Knowledge – Strong
understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS, and the Companies
Act.
Stakeholder Engagement – Competent
managing client communications, and ensuring the delivery of
exceptional, timely audit services.
