Can be based from offices in Derby (DE21 7BE), Coventry (CV3 6SD) or Shelton (SY3 8DL). Hybrid model with 3 days on site and 2 days remote.
We are currently recruiting for a Project Planner for our client in the Water industries working on Projects as part of the AMP8 spend. Capital Delivery is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects.
This role involves coordinating with project managers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The SDO Planner will also be responsible for maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and providing regular updates to senior management.
Key Accountabilities:
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
• Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues that may impact delivery.
• Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and implementation of project management processes and best practices.
• Support the preparation of project documentation, including project charters, plans, and reports.
• Facilitate project meetings and workshops, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
• Track and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control and accountability.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Experience:
• Project Planning and Management: Minimum of 2 years of experience in project planning and management, preferably within capital delivery or a related industry such as construction, infrastructure, or utilities.
• Project Management Tools: Proficiency in using project management software and tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar platforms to develop and maintain project schedules.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Demonstrated experience in coordinating with various stakeholders, including project managers, team members, and senior management, to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
• Risk Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
• Reporting and Documentation: Strong experience in preparing and presenting project status reports, as well as developing project documentation such as charters, plans, and post-project evaluations.
• Process Improvement: Experience in implementing project management best practices and processes to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate project meetings and workshops, and foster collaboration among diverse teams.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
