Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major Products & Services Transformation Programme within a leading UK public sector organisation. The role is offered on a contract basis until the end of March 2027. This programme is driving a bold shift in how products and services are designed, developed, and delivered, strengthening operational resilience, improving user experience, unlocking data and AI opportunities, and creating a more integrated and adaptive delivery model.
In this pivotal role, you will lead high‑impact projects that modernise end‑to‑end product lifecycles, enable more efficient service delivery, and support the adoption of emerging technologies. You will bring experience from government or a similarly complex, regulated environment and a proven ability to influence meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project delivery to agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality constraints. Day-to-day management of the project and project team. Coordinate development of project Business Cases and manage budgets. Schedule and manage resources to deliver the project. Identify and build effective relationships with key stakeholders. Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating where needed. Support governance, assurance, and reporting requirements. Apply project management principles and controls to track performance against milestones.Travel: Occasional travel to the organisation's HQ in Exeter will be required.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Prince2 Practitioner and/or APM PMQ Certificate, or equivalent project-related experience. Experience delivering low-complexity projects with clear stakeholders and standard methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage issues and recommend solutions effectively. Proven ability to coordinate multiple activities and workstreams under shifting priorities. Excellent communication skills and track record of successful stakeholder liaison.Desirable:
