Salary: Competitive Salary Contract Type: Full Time Working Pattern: Fixed Term Project Manager – Technical Publications About the role We’re looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead our established team of Technical Authors. You’ll play a key role in managing, planning, and delivering high‑quality technical publications for our global dealer network and customers. Reporting directly to the Technical Publications Manager, you will work closely with Engineering, Warranty, Uptime and Customer Service Specialists to ensure our manuals and service information exceed expectations. You’ll also act as a key point of contact for engineering to ensure product manuals are ready and available at the point of production. This role requires someone with a strong project management background, experience working within a large corporate environment, and a passion for driving improvements that enhance both internal processes and the end‑customer experience. Day‑to‑day responsibilities
Acknowledge and schedule all publication requests in line with priority and project timelines Liaise closely with Engineering and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems to understand requests and gather technical information Interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to support the creation of accurate documentation Lead, manage, and develop a team of Technical Authors, ensuring alignment with project plans, deadlines and quality expectations Use a bespoke Content Management System (CMS) to support authoring and workflow management Create project plans and produce progress reports on authoring activities Review existing publications against current product specifications and produce work packages for updates Ensure all instructions are clear, concise and written in simple, user‑friendly language Review team outputs to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency Identify and deliver improvements across Technical Publications processes, systems and outputs Introduce innovative and efficient ways of working, helping streamline operations Manage publication, translation and printing activities
What makes you a great fit
You hold a Degree, HND or HNC in sciences, engineering, computing, communications, journalism or a similar discipline You have experience working in a technical field and understand technical documentation processes You’re familiar with XML‑based technical publication environments You have strong project management, leadership and negotiation skills You’re confident with IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel You have experience with PLM/Teamcenter You bring a sense of urgency and deliver fast, accurate support to your team You are proactive, adaptable, and motivated by delivering first‑time‑right solutions You’re able to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with stakeholders at all levels You have over two years’ experience in product knowledge or technical support (ideal)
