Project Manager - Reform of Children's Services
New Today
Medway Council and partners are undertaking a transformation programme to further strengthen outcomes, improve quality and consistency of practice, and embed a culture of high aspiration, professional trust, and continuous learning. This includes reforms across Early Help, Social Care, Education, SEND, and integrated family support pathways.
The reform of Childrens Services, underpinned by the Childrens Wellbeing and Schools bill and the anticipated white paper on SEND and AP, focus on early intervention, supporting kinship carers, improving multi-agency working, and ensuring stable homes for children in care. The changes aim to build a more efficient, child-centred system, ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive timely, practical support. The Family First Partnership (FFP) agenda, a significant part of the reforms, is designed to create a more integrated, family-centred system of help, support, and protection. The programme sets out the practice changes it expects to see to improve support for children and families. This involves safeguarding partners implementing family help, multi-agency child protection and family group decision-making reforms. Medway, are taking an integrated and coordinated approach to the implementation of the reforms through 5 workstreams
