The Group is currently ranked third in the world for nuclear engineering.\n\nTo ensure a viable, efficient, and reliable energy future for all\n\nJob Description\n\n Project Manager\n\nContract role - (Inside or Outside IR35)\n\nHybrid working with 1 day / week at clients site (Reading)\n\nYour future team:\n\nWe are seeking 2 experienced and dynamic Project Managers to support a key defence client. \n\nYour missions:\n\n Support the initiation of projects and programmes using Portfolio Entry controls and structured business case development methods\n Analyse and break down complex problems to develop strategic proposals for Investment Approval\n Coordinate pre-Concept studies to explore business problems and opportunities\n Develop early understanding of solution options to inform decision-making\n Produce initial estimates for scope, schedule, and cost ranges\n⚙️ Recommend appropriate delivery methodologies for proposed initiatives\n✅ Secure approvals to proceed, including Standing Approval and initial resource allocation\n Ensure alignment of proposed projects and programmes with overall portfolio strategy and priorities\n Prepare key initiation deliverables, including Business Cases, Stakeholder Maps, and Project Categorisation Forms\n Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions\n Handover all completed deliverables to the Portfolio Entry team prior to exit\n\nQualifications\n\nSkills, Qualifications and Experience\n\n Mandatory:\n Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering projects at Concept stage\n ️ Experience delivering projects within Government environments\n\n⭐ Desirable:\n✍️ Experience writing business cases for complex and ambiguous problems\n Proposal management experience and/or professional chartership\n Demonstrable experience in Portfolio Management\n\nAdditional Information\n\nHybrid working, with on-site presence at Client site at least 1 day per week. This may include short periods of full-time attendance if working on classified initiatives.\n\n Please be aware that many roles at Assystem are subject to both security and export control restrictions.\n\nThese restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation.\nAll applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
