We are currently seeking to employ a Project Engineer to join our small but expanding team. This position will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects across Capiconic’s international portfolio. The role will initially be based in our London Head Office, with relatively frequent travel to project sites and supplier locations, so a willingness and ableness to travel is vital. This position will report into the Head of Engineering, who is also based in London. For the right experience, we would be willing to consider a remote candidate in the UK or Europe, providing relocation to London was viable on completion of probation. Responsibilities: Developing and maintaining project plans, ensuring timely execution and delivery. Participating in project meetings and creating action plans for assigned tasks. Creating process flow diagrams (PFDs) and basic piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Liaising with machinery suppliers, conducting technical discussions, and evaluating proposals. Preparing detailed equipment specifications and checklists for machinery requirements. Designing machinery layouts and ensuring compliance with static and dynamic load requirements. Performing mass and energy balance calculations. Collaborating with the supply chain team for the procurement of machinery and equipment. Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates. Supporting the commissioning and startup of new equipment or processes. Conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintaining regular reporting and communication with stakeholders. Demonstrating basic knowledge of automation, process control, and DIN/ISO norms. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience specifically in the processing of food products is highly desirable, either in-house or from a consultancy background. Priority given to those with dairy processing. Other industries will be considered. Technical Skills and Tools: Proficient in MS Excel, MS Visio, and AutoCAD 2D (3D is an advantage). Familiarity with piping software and process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) is a plus. Basic understanding of ERP systems for project management and procurement. Soft Skills: Strong reporting and documentation skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking. Time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Skills: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of additional (e.g., German, Russian, etc.) could be an advantage.
