The Opportunity
An established and growing engineering and manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Senior / Experinced Project Design Engineer to support the development of current and future product ranges.
This is a key role within the team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of design for manufacture, lead projects from concept through to delivery, and support the development of junior engineers.
You’ll be joining a fast-paced, product-focused environment where practical engineering, innovation and problem-solving are at the core of everything they do.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and support cradle-to-grave design projects, ensuring designs are robust, manufacturable and aligned with quality standards.
This role blends hands-on design, technical leadership and project delivery. You’ll be responsible for producing 2D and 3D designs (AutoCAD & SolidWorks), supporting manufacturing teams, and engaging directly with customers to provide technical guidance.
You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to cost reduction and new product development.
There is an element of UK and international travel, including site visits and installations.
What They’re Looking For
* Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years’ experience in a design/manufacturing environment
* Strong SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) capability
* Experience in design for manufacture and working closely with production teams
* Strong attention to detail with a solutions-focused mindset
* Confident communicator with the ability to support both internal teams and customers
