The Guardian Foundation is a charitable body whose purpose is to promote global press freedom and access to liberal journalism. Our vision is a world where people have access to reliable information, from a diverse range of sources, strengthening their ability to hold power to account.
We are now looking for a Project Coordinator to support the delivery and coordination of our news and media literacy projects, primarily in schools and colleges across selected boroughs in London and Greater Manchester. This is a multi-faceted and varied role, working across the News and media literacy team programmes, Behind the Headlines and NewsWise.
You'll help deliver our Untold Stories project, where children and people become news reporters and learn crucial media literacy skills.
This is a 4 day per week, fixed term contract until February 2027.
About the role
Manage the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the Untold Stories and NewsWise news and media literacy projects Support the programme manager to ensure project plans are delivered effectively, meeting key targets and milestones Support the recruitment of participating organisations including schools and colleges for Untold Stories and NewsWise Coordinate the booking processes for school participation, including diary planning, booking and scheduling sessions, and sending out partnership agreements. Organise diaries, process expenses, book meeting rooms, arrange travel, catering and other logistics for the project as required Administer webinars, including setting up event pages, scheduling emails and looking after registration Ensure accurate record-keeping and filing of all project-related documentation. Collection of evaluation information from project participants, collation of results and supporting internal and external reporting
About you
Experience in a similar project support role, ideally in the education and/or non-profit sector, with an understanding of project management Communicates clearly and confidently, presents information effectively, surfacing any issues as they arise Experience with financial administration and budget tracking Ability to effectively prioritise and manage a varied workload, taking initiative and often working to conflicting deadlines Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills, confident in liaising with a range of stakeholders including teachers, journalists, and people. Experience in event or workshop coordination, including scheduling and logistics. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation Good information management and experience of CRM systems such as Salesforce Experience working with schools, teachers, community groups or charities in a project-based or administrative capacity is advantageous but not essential

The salary range for this role is £31,000-£33,000 p.a. (full time equivalent) pro rata - £24,800 - £26,400 depending on experience.
