Production Team Leader

Experienced Production Team required for Global Manufacturer based at their site in Truro. Reporting to the South West Regional MD, the successful candidate will be required to effectively lead and manage production, quality and logistics activities to ensure that a high level of service is achieved, whilst attaining high levels of productivity and quality. The role is semi-autonomous and will have responsibility for the operation of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that all employees working on site are aware and compliant with all Health & Safety issues relevant to their role and responsibilities, and have been issued with and use the correct PPE
* Monitor and control safe systems of work ensuring full compliance with health & safety and environmental requirements in relation to all operations.
* Develop and maintain individual employee skills matrices and individual development plans.
* Develop, manage and monitor production plans and ensure targets are on schedule.
* Manage the deployment of resources and scheduling of work to ensure that production plans are achieved within agreed timescale.
* Provide regular reports on site performance, evaluate and provide feedback on improvement actions.
* Encourage a culture of continuous improvement to enhance processes and resource that particularly affect product integrity and quality standards and improve performance.
* Liaise with the Commercial team to provide updates on the progress of jobs and support changing priorities
* Ensure that all contractors working on site comply with H&S procedures.
* Ensure effective people management of all employees providing a fair and consistent leadership approach in line with company policies i.e. Absence management, dignity at work, etc.
* Oversee the management of stocks and stock levels.
* Take responsibility for the site itself and ensure that any defects of the building or contents are reported and acted upon where necessary.
Essential Experience & Candidate Attributes Required:
* Proven experience working as a Team Leader gained from an Electronics Assembly environment.
* Experience training operators in cable / electronics assembly.
* Ability to read wiring diagrams and specifications
* Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
* Working knowledge of health, safety & environmental requirements
* Ability to mentor and develop staff.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
