Working Pattern:

35 hours per week (4.5 days, between 7am–7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)

Pay Rates: Umbrella £40.66 per hour

PAYE £30.40 per hour + holiday pay

Paid overtime over 35 hours (25% Mon–Fri, 50% Sat–Sun)

Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Production Planning Engineer to join our Aerospace Manufacturing client based in Broughton. This role plays a critical part in ensuring robust industrial sequencing, efficient resource deployment, and continuous improvement across production lines.

The position is primarily office-based but requires regular engagement on the shop floor to support operational excellence and improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Define and optimise industrial sequences early in the development phase through strong integration of planning and constraint drivers.

Enable effective execution of industrial sequences to secure delivery within takt time, optimising resource deployment and line balancing.

Establish Line Balancing as a mandatory prerequisite for manufacturing process definition and performance monitoring from concept to industrial phase.

Drive manufacturing efficiency through continuous improvement of line balancing, including optimisation of white and red space.

Monitor manufacturing performance, analyse gaps, and propose corrective actions.

Create and maintain

PERT charts ,

Standard Line Balancing (SLB) , and support

Production Pace Control (PPC) .

Reduce efficiency losses through identification and elimination of non-value-added activities.

Improve serial allocated time using VA/NVA analysis and shop floor observations.

Translate industrial requirements into design and supply chain inputs.

Evaluate industrial impacts of modifications and support process optimisation along the critical path.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain and update the

Standard Time Value (STV)

database, including non-conformity processes.

Ensure adherence to STV golden rules.

Define and update methods, processes, and company's operating system bricks linked to STV and SLB.

Develop and maintain digital tools supporting STV and SLB.

Ensure appropriate competency levels across users and stakeholders.

Coach and assess end users in effective STV and SLB application.

Support industrial architecture evolution and analysis.

Skills & Experience Required

NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent experience).

Strong background in manufacturing engineering.

Experience working in a lineside engineering environment (desirable).

Proven experience with line balancing and build plan sequencing.

Demonstrated involvement in improvement or optimisation projects.

Good understanding of manufacturing performance metrics and efficiency drivers.

SAP experience is essential.

Comfortable working across office and shop floor environments.
