What you’ll be doing:
- Specifying and managing functional and non-functional requirements
- Developing system design documentation
- Maturing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in collaboration with other Combat System and Platform System teams
- Supporting procurement activities, including sub-contractor design reviews
- Providing support to platform integration teams
- Supporting the development of cost estimates for the activities and resources required to deliver the programme
- Reviewing Combat System, Platform and Supplier documentation
- Tracking and resolving technical issues as they arise
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Knowledge of the complete engineering lifecycle and system engineering best practice with experience within a number of key lifecycle phases including requirements, system design, system integration and acceptance
- STEM related degree and relevant engineering experience within the aerospace, defence or maritime sectors
- Strong awareness of product safety and product security
- Experience using requirements and/or configuration management tools
Desirable:
- An understanding of underwater acoustics and/or the ocean environment
- Knowledge/experience of network communications and architectures, including Ethernet, and the Internet Protocol (IP) suite
- Knowledge/experience of system modelling using sysML and/or UML
