Purpose of job: To lead the design and integration of electrical systems for our complex maritime products. You'll be responsible for delivering robust, safe, and compliant electrical solutions across sonar, autonomous systems, and submarine product areas. This role involves technical leadership, hands-on design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You'll guide a team of engineers and work closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams to produce a range of exciting and varied products - including autonomous surface platforms, control systems for electric handling systems, distributed data acquisition systems, and underwater vehicles. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Knowledge and experience (will be developed in the job role if not held) ? Strong understanding of electrical design principles, system design, including power distribution, control systems, and safety compliance ? Experience with electrical CAD tools ? Experience with CE/UKCA directives, EMC, electrical safety, and relevant standards ? Design for cost, testability, manufacturability ? System-level integration and debugging ? Familiarity with PLCs, motor control, and industrial automation is a plus ? Able to mentor, coach and develop more junior members of the team in order to develop overall capability Personal qualities ? Strong communicator and team collaborator ? Self-driven with excellent problem-solving skills ? Comfortable working in dynamic environments and managing multiple priorities ?
