About The Role\nCurrie & Brown is currently looking for an individual with either design or building control-based background to deliver the Building Regulations Principal Designer and CDM Principal Designer role within our London project team. The successful candidate will ensure project compliance with the current building regulations, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our recognised reputation as preferred service provider.\nThe current team is known for its people-focused culture, long-standing client relationships, and integrated technical expertise. With continued plans for expansion, the organisation offers a dynamic and collaborative environment with a strong commitment to the individual’s career progression.\nYour core duties will involve:\nComplying with the responsibilities of the Principal Designer under the Building Regulations and CDM Regulations 2015\nLead all Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) commissions, including resource coordination, fee management, and reporting to the Director of Health & Safety\nReview and comment on design risk and compliance documentation\nProduce, review, and update compliance risk registers and project coordination records\nSupport clients with competence declarations\nOversee reviews of full design packages, coordinating technical input from internal specialists and identifying Building Regulations compliance issues\nAssist in producing Building Regulations conformance statements and fulfilling BRPD statutory duties\nDetermine involvement during construction, including inspections, information requirements, and Principal Contractor liaison\nConduct periodic site inspections as required\nCoordinate review of design changes that may impact Building Regulations or CDM compliance\nEnsure required documentation is uploaded to agreed client information platformsWhat skills and attributes are we looking for from you:\n\nAbility to manage individual workloads while providing clear, competent advice to clients and internal teams\nExperience supporting or developing a Building Regulations Principal Designer service\nConfident, proactive communicator comfortable engaging with clients and project stakeholders\nDemonstrable leadership skills\nStrong problem-solving capability with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach\n\nAbout The Company\nWhy choose Currie & Brown?\nUnlike some businesses, we prioritise for the long term and honour our commitments.
