Principal Civil Engineer\n\nManchester\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to join an environmentally focused multi disciplinary consultancy in Manchester as they strengthen and grow their civil engineering capability. If you are passionate about sustainable design and want to help shape a growing team, this role offers genuine impact and progression.\n\nAs a Principal Civil Engineer, you will take technical ownership of drainage design, flood risk assessments, SuDS strategies and civil engineering inputs across a mix of development and regeneration projects. You will lead project delivery, manage quality and mentor junior engineers while working closely with environmental, planning and water specialists across the business.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead drainage design, SuDS strategies and Flood Risk Assessments for a variety of development projects.\n\nManage project delivery, quality, budgets and client relationships.\n\nOversee the preparation of technical reports, calculations and detailed design outputs.\n\nGuide and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.\n\nCoordinate with multi disciplinary teams and support collaborative design development.\n\nContribute to the expansion of the civil engineering capability within the Manchester office.\n\nAbout You\n\nDegree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.\n\nSignificant experience in drainage design, SuDS and flood risk assessments.\n\nSkilled with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or similar tools.\n\nStrong communication skills and confidence in client facing environments.\n\nChartered or working towards chartership.\n\nA career as a Principal Civil Engineer here provides the chance to help grow a focused civil engineering team within a respected consultancy that is fully committed to environmental improvement and sustainable development.\n\nPenguin Recruitment is operating as a Recruitment Agency for this position.
