This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a trusted, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in Bonnie Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently on the lookout for a skilled, driven Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a number of challenging projects. You will have a genuine hand in building and leading a newly-established team of design engineers, based near the green, family-friendly city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
Overseeing a number of projects and developments
Managing the day-to-day running of projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
Providing mentorship and support to colleagues as they progress, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Building and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and other technical documents
Subscribing to and promoting company policies, procedures, and best practice
Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant discipline)
Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
Extensive experience in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy setting
Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling
Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission
Experience of leading people and projects within the sector
Prior experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
- A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
- Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
- Experience of working in a public-facing role
