Job Description Principal Civil Engineer - London (Permanent) \n
Salary: £55,000 - £62,000 + Benefits
We're working with a leading civil and structural engineering consultancy seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their growing London office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a leading role in the design and delivery of diverse civil infrastructure projects across the residential, commercial, education, industrial, and urban regeneration sectors.
\n\n About the Role \n
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, liaising directly with clients, and leading civil engineering input from concept to construction. You will have a strong technical background and be confident managing multi-disciplinary teams on a range of development infrastructure schemes.
You will work closely with both civil and structural teams, contributing to the business's growth while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery and client service.

Leading design and delivery of infrastructure and drainage projects
\n
Preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)
\n
SuDS and detailed drainage system design
\n
Earthworks and levels strategy
\n
S106, build-over, and S278 applications
\n
Public realm and highway improvements
\n
Hard landscaping and external works design
\n
Coordinating with stakeholders, local authorities, and clients
\n
Mentoring and reviewing work of junior staff
\n
Ensuring compliance with design standards and project deadlines
\n
\n\n Required Skills & Experience \n
\n
Minimum of 8+ years' experience in UK civil engineering design
\n
Proven leadership on development infrastructure projects
\n
Strong client-facing skills and project coordination ability
\n
In-depth experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS, and MicroDrainage (WinDes) \n
\n
Solid understanding of UK planning policies and approval processes
\n
Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE
\n
