The Job:
An established poultry business is seeking a Poultry Catching Manager to lead and coordinate live bird catching and haulage operations across multiple farm sites.
This is a hands on leadership role responsible for planning and overseeing daily catching activities, managing rotas and workforce requirements, and ensuring birds are caught, handled and transported safely and efficiently. You will liaise closely with farm managers and production teams to maintain smooth workflow and minimise downtime.
You will enforce health & safety procedures, oversee risk assessments, ensure correct PPE usage and maintain strict biosecurity standards. The role also includes monitoring bird welfare, maintaining operational documentation, investigating incidents where required, and driving continuous improvement across teams.

A long established, family run agricultural business based in East Yorkshire, operating to high standards of bird welfare, sustainability and operational excellence. The company works closely with a network of local farms and supplies customers across the UK.

The Candidate:
- Proven experience in poultry catching, livestock handling, or agricultural operations
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good knowledge of health & safety and biosecurity standards
- Clear understanding of bird welfare requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility for early starts and extended hours when required
- Experience working with or managing HGV drivers
- CPC qualification
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH)
- Experience supporting welfare or compliance audits

The Package
- Salary £40,000–£45,000 per annum DOE 
- Full time, minimum 40 hours per week (typically Monday–Thursday, early starts)
- Ongoing training and development

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
