We are seeking an experienced Plater Welder from a heavy engineering or industrial fabrication background to join our client in South Yorkshire. The Plater Welder role involves the fabrication, welding, and assembly of large, heavy-duty products used within a range of highly regulated industries.

This position is ideal for an experienced plater fabricator who is comfortable working with thick materials, complex drawings, and demanding tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and weld heavy steel components and structures Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and fabrication specifications Carry out plate preparation including marking out and cutting. Perform welding using processes such as MIG, MMA (Stick), and Flux-Cored (TIG beneficial) Work with heavy section plate Carry out weld inspections and ensure work meets quality and dimensional standards Work safely at all times, adhering to site and workshop HSE requirements Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience as a Plater Welder in a heavy engineering environment Strong background in structural steel, pressure vessels, plant equipment, or large fabricated assemblies Apprenticeship trained or time-served Plater Welder Relevant NVQ / City & Guilds / SVQ in Fabrication or Welding
