People Manager Hybrid – Home-based, typically with 1 day per month in London £19.81 per hour 28–35 hours per week 3-month contract | ASAP start | View to extend
I am excited to be working with an amazing London-based charity that supports young families experiencing poverty. They’re looking for a People Manager to join their small, values-driven People Team on a 3-month temporary basis — with potential to extend. This is a broad generalist HR role , offering the chance to make a meaningful impact quickly. Key responsibilities: Provide expert HR advice across the full employee lifecycle Manage onboarding, changes to terms, and offboarding processes Support and coach managers on employee relations issues (performance, grievance, conduct) Lead on inductions and help drive engagement through effective people practices Collaborate on recruitment alongside the internal coordinator Ensure up-to-date HR records, compliance, and policy reviews Work with the Director of People on people-focused projects (e.g. wellbeing, inclusion, engagement) Support accurate data entry for payroll processing About you: Proven generalist HR experience (ideally in the charity or SME space) Confident advising managers on employee relations matters Sound knowledge of UK employment law and best practice Excellent attention to detail and organisation Comfortable with HR systems, Microsoft Office, and producing people data reports.
