We are seeking a PCB Design Engineer to provide PCB design services. The successful candidate is expected to be conversant with the latest technology in PCB design and fabrication, using it to add value to our client's design process whilst delivering complex designs whilst delivering designs with integrity, yield, testability & manufacturability. The role is expected to be predominately remote with occasional attendance at the client site in Rochester. The successful candidate should ideally have experience designing PCBs for high reliability applications.We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority) marine, military, aerospace or rail experience.This role represents a great opportunity to work almost entirely remote, contributing to the security of the UK and our allies. Valued attributes are a team player who can use their initiative and has a real passion for engineering with an attention to detail, combined with a thorough, methodical approach to problem solving.ResponsibilitiesReview and understand the client systems process guidelines e.g. Hardware Design Implementation Document PCB Requirement s and ConstraintsImport PCB profile data from the Mechanical Design Team into the PCB Design Tool (Xpedition Designer VX).Support the generation of the layout constraints and guidelines documentation and the PCB stack-up design to the process and templates agreed with the client. Review the results with the client peer group and following the review, update the design, closing any actions raised at the reviewGenerate PCB Stack-Up and Layout, following processes and templates defined by the clientSupport the Post-Layout analysis of power integrity, timing parameters and validate any stack-up/ model data, which includes reference to the process and templates used for generated deliverables. Review the results with the client peer group and following the review, update the design, closing any actions raised at the review.Support the Mandatory Post-Layout analysis e.g. thermal performance, with reference to the process used. Following the review, update the design, closing any actions raised at the reviewSupport generation of the Tracking constraints and guidelines documentation. Review the results with the client peer group and following the review, update the design, closing any actions raised at the reviewGenerate tracking of PCB, following client defined processes, templates to be used and deliverablesSupport the delivery of an independent design review of the entire design prior to PCB layout and artwork, following the review, update the design, closing any actions raised at the reviewSupport edits that may be required to the design data set from Supplier feedback (DFM an DRC processes) to support a product that improves yieldPost acceptance of the Layout and Artwork and PCB order placement, generate the PCB Manufacturing Drawing set (General Assembly Drawing) defining the mechanisms on how to assemble the componentry to the PCBUse the client JIRA BUGS system to flag any issues identified during Work Package execution.
