About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated PCB Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern production environment, supporting the assembly and testing of high-quality electronic products. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of daily and weekly production plans Perform hand soldering of components onto PCBs to a high standard Carry out visual inspections and quality checks Program PCBs using appropriate test equipment and fixtures Conduct functional testing of assembled PCBs Operate automated PCB assembly equipment Monitor component stock levels and report shortages Participate in periodic stock takes
Health & Safety
Follow all site health and safety procedures Wear appropriate PPE for tasks and work areas Carry out safety checks before starting tasks Report any accidents or near misses promptly
Quality
Ensure all products meet required quality standards Accurately complete quality documentation Identify and suggest improvements to processes and quality Escalate and manage non-conformances using internal processes
Operational Performance
Work closely with team leaders to maintain efficient production flow Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Actively look for ways to improve efficiency and workflow
Housekeeping
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment Keep walkways and work areas clear at all times
Skills & Experience Required
Experience in PCB assembly and hand soldering Strong inspection and quality control skills Experience with PCB programming and functional testing Familiarity with automated assembly equipment Background in an SMT manufacturing/production environment GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Desirable Skills
IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification (or equivalent) HNC or similar technical qualification Additional SMT experience
