Job Description

Technical Paraplanner – STEP Qualified

Central London | Hybrid Working

Salary: up to £65,000 + excellent benefits + long-term progression

A highly respected, award-winning Chartered Financial Planning firm based in Central London is experiencing exceptional organic growth, having more than doubled revenue in the past year. As a result, they are expanding their technical team and are now seeking a STEP-qualified Technical Paraplanner to join their close-knit, highly professional environment.

This firm operates exclusively in the HNW and UHNW space, specialising in wills, trusts and estate planning, and is recognised as a market leader in intergenerational wealth transfer. Clients typically hold £1m+ investable assets with estates ranging well into seven figures.

The Role

This is a senior, technically focused paraplanning position, working at the heart of the business alongside experienced Financial Advisers and external professional connections.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting wills and trust documentation from scratch (circa 3–4 per week)
  • Interpreting and interrogating complex trust clauses and legal structures
  • Acting as a technical point of reference for advisers and clients
  • Liaising with solicitors and other professional bodies
  • Attending client meetings (in person and via Zoom) to explain documentation and answer technical queries
  • Supporting a small group of advisers within a collaborative, quality-driven environment

About You

  • STEP qualified (essential)
  • Strong, hands-on experience in wills, trusts and estate planning
  • Background in paraplanning or a legal/paralegal environment with deep technical exposure
  • Exceptionally articulate with excellent written skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and confidence handling complex legal documents
  • Professional, empathetic and comfortable working directly with HNW clients

(Level 4 Diploma is beneficial but not essential.)

Why Apply?

  • Work closely with a highly technical, respected Managing Director who is passionate about mentoring and development
  • Clear long-term career progression within a growing, stable business
  • Hybrid working (initially 4 days office, moving to 3)
  • 25 days holiday + birthday off + Christmas closure
  • Generous pension (5% employer contribution)
  • Study support and ongoing professional development

This is a career role, not a job — ideal for someone who wants depth, responsibility and long-term progression within a specialist estate-planning-led firm.
