The team...
Legal & Democratic Services are looking to appoint a part-time experienced Governance Officer to work within the Member Support team; which alongside the Council's Democratic Services team, corporate complaints team, Electoral Services team, Information Governance team and Governance Legal Team comprises our Governance Team.
About the role....
The post holder will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to both officers and councillors on a diverse range of governance matters, focused around the council's response to and learning from councillor and MP enquiries. You will provide operational support to the Member Support Manager; deliver insight on procedural matters; and on improving outcomes for residents through learning when things go wrong. You will work closely with the Governance Legal Team handling complex issues relating to councillor and MP enquiries; and with colleagues across the organisation to respond to queries accurately and quickly, helping our elected representatives to be as effective as possible on behalf of residents. You will also help the council gain a holistic insight into issues affecting our communities and use that intelligence to shape future service delivery.

- You’ll be paid a competitive salary of £29,540 - £32,061 per annum, pro-rata to hours worked
