Finance & Operations Manager
Kensington, London Full time, permanent role On-site 5 days/week Salary: circa £65,000 pa + benefits
Overview
Our client is the holding company for a portfolio of fast-growing businesses across AI, cyber, health tech and climate tech. They are hiring a hands-on, experienced Finance & Operations Manager to take operational ownership of the entity and the London office, near to South Kensington.
The successful candidate will run day-to-day operational, facilities and finance administration tasks and act as the on-the-ground operational lead for the Group. They operate a discreet, professional London office of approximately 15 people, coordinating with advisers and service providers across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires strong organisational discipline, commercial awareness, sound judgment and a high degree of trustworthiness. Responsibilities
Act as the primary on-site lead for the company and its interaction with other Group companies. Manage finance admin tasks such as accounts payable and receivable administration, track supplier invoices, allocate costs, prepare supporting documentation for payments, and coordinate with the Group CFO for execution. Manage a rented four-floor building (occupied by the firm's staff plus other Group occupants). Liaise with landlord and service providers to organise services and resolve issues (including occasional out-of-hours responses). Provide practical calendar and travel booking support for the CEO and leadership team, when required (not a PA role - mainly logistical support and follow-through). Coordinate with Group specialists and external advisors for company secretarial and compliance tasks (quarterly filings, signatures, deadlines etc), working closely with the Group CFO and financial leads as required. Work with the CEO, CFO and other senior colleagues to be a dependable, discreet presence on the ground, where some senior stakeholders are remote/international. Ad hoc: support recruitment logistics (candidate travel booking), occasional cross-border ad hoc issues as the CEO travels, and other practical tasks required to keep the business running.
About you
Proven experience in an operations, office management or hybrid finance/ops role in a small to medium, fast-paced business environment. Comfortable with financial admin tasks (AP/AR) but accountancy qualification is not required. Hands-on, hardworking, willing to get stuck in and “do what it takes”. Low supervision required, able to figure things out, prioritise and follow-up independently. Dependable, trustworthy, discreet (NDA will be required), and compliant. Able to handle confidential matters with tact. Switched-on and diligent, with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and service providers and prioritise tasks. Happy with an on-site presence five days a week; occasional out-of-hours responsiveness may be required. UK right to work required.
