Working in partnership with an Expert by Experience Co-Trainer, the Facilitator Trainer leads sessions, guides discussion, and ensures the content is delivered to the required national standard. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging learning environment that improves understanding, challenges attitudes, and promotes high-quality, person-centred support for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
Brief outline of the role:
The Oliver McGowan Facilitator Trainer delivers the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism in partnership with an Expert by Experience Co-Trainer, ensuring sessions are engaging, interactive, and meet national quality standards. They facilitate discussions and learning activities in a safe, inclusive environment, manage session logistics, and promote values of dignity, respect, and person-centred practice throughout the training.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Be comfortable talking in groups (once confidence is built)
Communication Ability to work with the facilitator to deliver training
To be positive about the training
To be resilient and professional
Experience of working in social care (desirable)
Experience delivering training in health, social care or education (desirable)
Excellent communication and organisation skills
