We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals
• Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery at all times
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation within the nursery premises
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress
• Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource management, and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during opening hours
• Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing support to promote professional development
• Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting
• Ensure the nursery adheres to all health and safety legislation and policies

Experience

• Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
• Extensive knowledge of early childhood education practices and child development stages
• Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience and understanding
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings or events
• Previous experience in childcare management roles is highly advantageous

We are seeking a post holder who is available to begin in January 2026 on a part-time basis to support the pre-opening phase of the nursery. xcunqrw The position will be full-time once the Nursery is fully open in March 2026
