This is a key role within the Strategy and Architecture function, responsible for the design, build, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure (both physical and virtual).You will play a vital part in ensuring the organisation's network environment is secure, resilient, and aligned with business needs, while also driving continuous improvement and innovation across services.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance across operational environmentsDesign, develop, and implement new network solutions, including documentation and technical standardsAct as a subject matter expert for network technologies, providing guidance and assurance across projects and servicesEnsure compliance with industry standards, legislation, and best practiceAnalyse business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutionsDrive continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure architectureConduct impact analysis and quality assurance for system changes and upgradesIdentify risks and provide mitigation strategies within network deliveryBuild and maintain effective relationships with managed service providers and external suppliersContribute to a culture focused on balancing service quality with cost efficiencySpecial ConditionsParticipation in an on-call rotaRegular travel may be requiredSubject to Management VettingAbout YouStrong technical knowledge of networking technologies including Cisco, Azure, AWS, SD-WAN, VLANs, and routing (static & dynamic)Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWindsFamiliarity with security and cloud-based solutions (e.g. Zscaler, Sentinel)Understanding of IT service management frameworks such as ISO 20000 / ITSMExperience producing technical design documentation and service artefactsExperienceProven experience supporting, building, and maintaining complex network infrastructure in a large organisationTrack record of delivering infrastructure solutions from design through to implementationExperience working in environments with multiple stakeholders and suppliersSkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to anticipate risks and develop effective solutionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and guide othersConfident in producing and maintaining clear technical documentationDue to the high volume of applications we receive, if you do not hear from us within 7 working days, your application has been unsuccessful.If this role is not for you but you do know somebody who would be interested, please feel free to refer them to us!
