Music Teacher We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaging, and highly motivated Music teacher to join a thriving and forward-thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced practitioner who is passionate about Music education and keen to play a key role in shaping the future direction of the subject within the school. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated subject specialists who bring a wide range of expertise and a shared commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. You will be expected to deliver inspiring and well-structured lessons that engage students of all abilities, fostering both a love of music and strong academic progress. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 Teaching the OCR GCSE Music syllabus, incorporating elements of World Music and Popular Music Using a range of teaching strategies to support all learners and maximise achievement Promoting and developing students' literacy and oracy skills within Music lessons Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the department Supporting extracurricular activities such as clubs, ensembles, or performances (desirable) The Music department: A collaborative and supportive team with a strong commitment to professional excellence A successful GCSE cohort, with approximately 90 students currently opting for Music A department that values creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement The school offers: A strong commitment to raising student achievement through a rich and challenging curriculum A culture that promotes equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity, and prioritises safeguarding Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression A supportive and welcoming staff community In addition, this is an exciting time to join the school, with plans underway to move into a new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art building funded by the DofE, offering enhanced facilities for teaching and learning.
