My client is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering function, working closely with the hands-on Engineering Manager as part of a two-person team. This is a practical, site-based role supporting the safe, efficient and reliable operation of food manufacturing equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will have proven experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within food manufacturing, and will be comfortable taking responsibility, fault-finding under pressure, and contributing to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime

Work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager on daily maintenance activities, breakdowns and improvement projects

Support installation, commissioning and modification of machinery and equipment

Ensure all maintenance work complies with food safety, hygiene, health & safety and engineering standards

Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders as required

Assist with contractor supervision where necessary

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes

Support production teams to ensure smooth, efficient operation of the site

Skills & Experience Required

Essential: Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment

Strong fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical systems

Experience working with production machinery (motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, basic PLC fault-finding)

Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team

Strong understanding of health & safety in an industrial setting

Desirable: Experience within the food manufacturing industry

Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, SALSA or similar)

Electrical qualifications (e.g. 18th Edition)

Welding or fabrication skills
