As a MRI Cardiac Radiographer, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality imaging across multiple modalities. You will support the smooth running of a busy, diverse imaging service ensuring every patient receives exceptional care, clarity, and reassurance.

Responsibilities

As a MRI Cardiac Radiographer, you will:

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic procedures including MRI, fluoroscopy and X-Ray

  • Support IV cannulation and contrast administration

  • Prepare, assess, and position patients for imaging with care, safety, and precision

  • Operate sophisticated imaging equipment and report any technical issues promptly

  • Ensure optimal image quality and adjust acquisition parameters appropriately

  • Complete all documentation accurately, including patient details and imaging records

  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards, IR(M)ER, and Code of Practice guidelines

  • Monitor patients during scans and respond quickly to clinical changes

  • Maintain excellent communication with patients, carers, and the MDT

Essential
  • Degree in Diagnostic Imaging

  • HCPC registration

  • Strong experience in MRI

  • Sound clinical judgement across multiple imaging pathways

  • Understanding of clinical governance, audit processes, and safety protocols

  • Excellent communication skills verbal, written, and interpersonal

  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and manage your own workload

  • Confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Kind, proactive, patient-focused and committed to high-quality care

  • Computer literacy and understanding of imaging systems

Desirable
  • Cardiac CT or cardiac MRI experience

  • COR-approved cannulation qualification

  • DR digital radiography and fluoroscopy experience

  • Previous private or NHS hospital imaging experience

  • Knowledge of advanced imaging technology developments

  • Understanding of medical interventions and diagnostic pathways
