Our Directly Authorised client are growing rapidly and are now looking to add to the team a hungry and highly motivated Mortgage & Protection Advisor.
Job Summary We’re looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Mortgage & Protection Adviser with proven experience in the UK mortgage market to join our team. You will support clients through the entire mortgage and protection journey — from initial consultation, through planning and product recommendation, to application completion and ongoing support. As an experienced adviser, you will also help generate new business and maintain high standards of compliance and customer service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct consultations (face-to-face, phone, or video) to assess clients’ financial circumstances and property goals.
* Provide expert advice on a range of mortgage products (residential, remortgage, buy-to-let, etc.) — helping clients understand options and recommending the most suitable one.
* Advise and offer relevant protection products (e.g. life insurance, income protection, critical illness, buildings & contents insurance) alongside mortgages, when appropriate
* Prepare and submit mortgage applications on behalf of clients; liaise with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth processing.
* Manage your own case load and diary — arranging appointments, following up with clients, and ensuring timely completion of cases.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, estate agents and lenders.
* Ensure all advice and applications comply with regulatory requirements such as those set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or equivalent.
* Keep up to date with mortgage market developments, lender criteria, and protection products — maintaining required qualifications and continuing professional development.
* Meet or exceed sales and business development targets, including proactive lead generation where applicable.
Skills
* Fully CeMAP qualified
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a mortgage adviser (or mortgage & protection adviser) in the UK.
* Strong knowledge of the UK mortgage market and a variety of mortgage products (residential, remortgage, buy-to-let, etc.) — ideally including experience with specialist products (e.g. buy-to-let, bridging, commercial, protection). Not Essential
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to explain complex financial information clearly, build trust, and work with diverse clients.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a varied workload and diary.
* Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to compliance and delivering good customer outcomes under regulatory standards.
* Self-motivated, proactive attitude — with ability to generate new leads/business and support growth.
