Mobile Engineer

plays a vital role in keeping our customers operational. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing Speedy hire equipment on-site, ensuring service schedules are met and breakdowns are responded to quickly and professionally. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong technical capability, organisation, and excellent communication. What youll be doing day to day

Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance of Speedy hire equipment at customer sites

Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical repairs efficiently to minimise equipment downtime

Responding to breakdowns and urgent call-outs in line with service level expectations

Ensuring all service schedules and maintenance records are accurately updated using company systems

Completing safety checks and ensuring equipment complies with company and legislative standards

Communicating clearly with customers to explain work completed and provide technical guidance where needed

Managing your workload independently, prioritising jobs effectively while working as part of a wider engineering team

Maintaining your vehicle, tools, and stock to a high standard

Working in line with all health, safety, compliance, and ESG requirements, supporting Speedys

What youll need

To be successful in this role, you will have: A full UK driving licence with

no more than 6 penalty points

Proven mechanical engineering experience (essential), ideally within the hire industry or a related engineering environment

Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and digital service systems

Strong verbal and written communication skills

The ability to work independently under pressure, as well as collaboratively within a team

A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and supporting your business unit
